Be honest: does a walking pad actually get used six months later in a Malaysian condo?

The GINTELL WeWalk 1.0 has been sitting on the deals list at RM888 since 10 October, listed from RM6,988, and every time it floats back to the top of the page somebody I know orders one. The pitch is always the same: walk through your meetings, skip the gym commute, slide it under the bed afterwards. The version I want to hear is the six-month one. Mine lasted three weeks beside the sofa in 2024 before it became the most expensive thing in the flat that I never switched on, and I doubt I am alone in that. The people who carry on using theirs seem to have a routine attached to it, not a resolution. So how often do you actually stand on yours, what speed do you settle at, and where does it live when it is not in use? I am also curious whether the belt still tracks straight after a year of daily use, and whether anyone has needed a spare part here in Malaysia.

Mine only survived because it sits right under the desk and I get on it during calls where I am just listening. Stepping off to answer one email is where the habit dies.

Check the deck length before ordering if you are above 175cm. My stride clipped the back end on the first unit and I had to swap it for a longer one.

Six months in and the belt has started drifting to one side. Nothing broken, but it wants a re-tension every few weeks, and nobody mentions that when you buy online.

I handed mine to my mother and she uses it far more than I ever did. Her condo has a wide lift lobby to park it upright, mine does not, and that was the whole difference.

The first thing I would check is whether there is a service centre in your own state. A sixty kilo machine that has to be couriered back to the Klang Valley is a dead machine.

Two years on the same unit and it still runs, but I only do thirty minutes at four km/h in the morning. The people who try to jog on these are the ones who cook the motor.
