Deepavali falls on Sunday 8 November this year and 11.11 is the following Wednesday. That three-day gap is the part I keep thinking about, because every courier in the country is going to be mid-surge exactly when the last Deepavali parcels are supposed to land. The shops are clearly expecting people to buy late. Harvey Norman's Home Upgrades sale only ends on 2 November, the ALL IT laptop promotion runs 29 October to 5 November, and POPULAR's clearance across 56 stores stays open until 9 November, which is after the festival has already passed. Dunlopillo's year end sale at Mid Valley does not even start until 2 November. So what cutoff do you personally use for something that has to be there by the eighth? I am working on four working days from the order date and treating anything later as a bonus, but I have had a parcel sit still in a hub for four days before, and I would rather hear what has actually worked for other people than guess again. And is there a courier you would avoid entirely in a week like this?

Anything ordered after the fourth I treat as a bonus. If it is a gift for the eighth I would rather buy it in the mall on Saturday than sit watching a tracking page refresh.
Ninja Van and J&T both crawl in my area the week before a festival. Pos Laju has never let me down, and I happily pay the couple of ringgit extra for that peace of mind.
Order the household stuff on the eleventh as usual. Towels and storage boxes can arrive whenever, it is only the presents that come with a deadline.
Read the cut-off banner on the listing page, then assume it is two days earlier in practice. Most of the big sellers put a date up and quietly stop accepting orders before it.
I had a parcel sit in the Shah Alam hub for four days last Deepavali. Nothing was lost, it just stopped moving, so I plan a week ahead instead of three days.
For anything glass or fragile I choose self collect at the branch. It cuts out the last-mile leg and you can open the box before you drive off.
