DirectD's warehouse clearance at the Gadget MEGA Store in Petaling Jaya opened today and runs until 27 October, with the advertised line being selected items from RM19 across Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, OPPO and Huawei stock, plus smart home gadgets and appliances. I have been through two of these clearance events before and the pattern was the same both times. The first morning has the most stock but also the longest wait, because half the floor is still being unwrapped while people are already queuing. The final afternoon has the deeper cuts, but only on whatever nobody else wanted. What I am trying to work out is how people plan around that. Do you go on day one and take the listed figure while the models are still there, or wait until the weekend and gamble that the thing you came for has not already walked out the door? I am mostly after a laptop and a tablet rather than the small accessories, since those seem to be the categories that empty out before lunch.

Queued outside the same store before opening at the last one and half the pallets were still shrink-wrapped when the shutters went up, so the first forty minutes was mostly standing around watching staff cut tape. Going in closer to ten once the floor is sorted might be the better trade.
Ask whether the unit is sealed or an opened box before you pay. A few of the clearance sets come back missing the charger and the cable, and nobody mentions that until you are at the counter with your card already out.
Does the warranty on these start from the day you buy it or from the original activation date? Some of this stock has been sitting on a display shelf for months, and that changes what the cover is actually worth to you.
Anyone know whether the tablets in this round are wifi-only or cellular? The flyer just says tablets and it makes a big difference to what I would use one for.
Parking around the PJ store is the real bottleneck on a Saturday. Come in from the LDP side before eleven, because by lunch the row outside is full and people start blocking each other in.
The last afternoon is when the leftovers get cut again, but by then the models people actually asked for are long gone. I would rather take the listed figure on day one than gamble on Sunday.
