The KOSÉ and DECORTÉ J-Beauty Mega Sale opens at The Starling on Wednesday 28 October and runs until Sunday 1 November, so five days at Level G near Nando's. The headline is discounts of up to 75% off selected skincare and makeup — selected being the word that matters, since nothing on the flyer says the whole shelf is cut that deep. My own experience with beauty warehouse events is that the deepest cuts sit on gift sets, discontinued shades and the big holiday boxes, while the one lotion or cleanser you actually repurchase every three months stays near the normal shelf figure. Which makes a five-day sale hard to judge until you are standing in front of the table. So before I drive over: has anyone seen these Japanese brand sales discount the plain refill pouches and the everyday sun care, or is it mostly sets? And if you have been to one at The Starling before, does the stock get topped up during the run, because I can only make it on the Sunday and I would rather not spend the trip looking at empty tester boxes.

Gift sets are where the big percentage lives in my experience. The pouches I refill stayed at the normal figure at the last one of these I went to, so I walked out with nothing.
Go on the Wednesday morning if there is one specific thing you want. By the weekend the popular sunscreens are down to opened boxes and the display units everyone has been touching.
Ask at the table whether the DECORTÉ items come with the local gift-with-purchase or only what is printed on the outer box. That is where the premium line usually differs from the online listing.
Give yourself time for parking at The Starling on a weekend. The basement fills before noon and you end up queuing at the barrier longer than you queue at the sale.
Anyone know whether they restock across the five days? I can only make the Sunday and I do not want to drive over for the leftovers of a Wednesday opening.
Turn the box over and check the date on anything cut that hard. J-beauty sunscreen is usually fine but older bottles are exactly what gets bundled into these clearances.
