The Malaysian Grand Prix weekend is at Sepang from Friday 30 October to Sunday 1 November 2026. Qualifying is on Saturday morning from 10:50, the sprint goes off at 3pm on Saturday, and the grand prix itself is at 3pm on Sunday 1 November. That is three days of the same road, the same toll plaza and the same car park, and the Sunday is the one everybody turns up for. What makes this weekend awkward is that everything else is stacked on top of it. Saturday 31 October is also Halloween, and AEON's Thank You Day is the same day, so the mall crowd and the circuit crowd are competing for the same afternoon. If you are doing Sepang on Saturday you are not doing anything else that night, whatever you told your friends. For those of you who have done this trip before, what actually works now? I have driven in twice and lost most of the morning to the stretch past Kota Damansara both times. The train and shuttle option looks tidier on paper but I have never tried it on race day, and I would rather hear it from someone who has than find out at the platform. Same question for parking: is there any bay worth paying for that gets you out inside an hour after the chequered flag, or is sitting in the car park for ninety minutes just part of the deal?

Leave before eight if you are driving. The queue starts forming well before the first session is out and by ten it is a car park on the highway, not a road.
I did the train and shuttle two years ago and it was the calmest Sepang trip I have had. It takes longer on paper and shorter in practice, and you arrive without having already spent an hour in second gear.
Saturday is the awkward one this year. Qualifying in the morning, sprint at three, Halloween the same night. I am doing Sepang on Sunday and staying in town on Saturday, otherwise I am no use to anyone by nine.
Bring a poncho and leave the umbrella in the car. Once the afternoon storm lands on that grandstand the wind makes an umbrella pointless, and you spend the whole shower holding it instead of watching.
Does the shuttle run through the whole weekend or only on race day? I am coming up from Seremban and the drive is the only part of the plan I am not looking forward to.
Go early for the support races. The stands are half empty, the paddock is walkable, and you are already parked and fed before the MotoGP bikes even come out of the garage.
