Payday sales ran from 21 to 28 October, and the pre-11.11 campaigns opened while they were still running — 27 October was the start date on most of the ones I bookmarked. So the discount window is now nearly three weeks long instead of one day, and 11.11 itself is still 11 November. Every year I end up spending part of the 11.11 pot during the pre-sales, then the day arrives with the vouchers that only drop at midnight and nothing left to use them on. The pre-sale price and the day price often look the same anyway once the platform vouchers stack on top. How do you lot handle it? Do you keep a separate amount for the 11th and ignore the pre-sales, or buy early and skip the day entirely? And has anyone worked out a reliable way to tell whether a pre-sale tag is the real floor, or the listing was quietly marked up in early October so the discount looks bigger?

I keep a hard number for the 11th and treat anything in the pre-sale as a separate month. Last year the pre-sale was where the boring stuff went through — detergent, phone casing, the kids' school shoes — and the day itself was for the one big item.
Put the listing into a price tracker before you believe the pre-11.11 tag. Two things in my cart went up in the first week of October and then came back down wearing a pre-sale badge.
The platform voucher is what decides it for me. If it cannot be collected until the day itself, buying early means paying the shelf price with a thinner discount stacked on top.
Pre-sale only makes sense on things that actually sell out — the specific size, the one colour, the model everyone wants. Everything else can wait for the 11th when the stacking is better.
Does the checkout still fall over at midnight for anyone else? The last two years I gave up at half past twelve and bought the next morning at what looked like the same figure.
Set the reminder for the voucher collection, not for the sale. The 11th is not the problem, forgetting to claim the platform voucher the night before is.
