Under Armour's Genting outlet sale needs 4 items for the extra 50% off — does that bundle ever actually save you money?

Genting Highlands Premium Outlets is running an Under Armour special outlet sale from 30 October to 1 November 2026. The tier is the interesting part: an extra 50% off when you take four selected items, or 20% when you take two. The extra savings only land once your basket clears the tier, and the tier counts selected items only, not the whole floor. I went up thinking one running tee and came back with four things, one of which I have genuinely no use for. On paper I saved more than if I had bought the tee alone on the 20% tier. In practice I spent more money than I planned to spend, on a Saturday, with a toll and a parking ticket on top. Both of those statements are true and only one of them feels like a win. So I am curious how the rest of you handle these outlet bundles. Do you go in with four things already on a list, or do you price the single item, work out what the fourth item is effectively costing you, and walk away if the answer is a jacket you will never wear? The second method takes ten minutes on a phone in the car park and it has talked me out of two sales this year. And if anyone has been up there this weekend: are the current season pieces on the selected racks, or is it last season stock that has been sitting since the last outlet run? That decides the whole thing for me.

I work out the effective price of the fourth item before I queue. If the extra piece ends up costing more than something I would actually buy at full price, the tier is just a bigger basket with a nicer name.

Ask the staff which racks count as selected items before you start picking. Last outlet run it was two racks out of the whole floor and I only found out at the counter with a pile of stuff in my arms.

Bring someone who needs one of the four. You split the basket at the till, both of you clear the tier, and nobody walks out with a jacket they will never wear in this heat.

Sizes are the real gate, not the discount. The tier is easy to hit in XS and the big sizes, but M in anything decent is gone by Saturday afternoon and then you are improvising with the fourth item.

Read the tag properly before you decide. Outlet stock often has the price reduced more than once, and the extra fifty percent usually comes off the latest figure rather than the original one everybody quotes.

Factor in the drive before you call it a saving. Toll, parking and the cool air up there add up, so I only join these outlet runs when I am already going up for the weekend.
