Vantage's cookware warehouse sale runs 26 October to 1 November — is a 91% markdown worth the drive to PJ?

The Vantage warehouse clearance is on from 26 October to 1 November at their HQ in Section 13, Petaling Jaya, 9am to 5pm daily, advertised as up to 91% off selected cookware, pots, pans and dinnerware. The wording matters: 91% is the ceiling on selected lines, not a shelf-wide number. The same pans are already sitting at 60 to 70 per cent off online this week. A Tramontina 24cm non-stick frying pan with an induction base was listed at RM35.70 against RM119, a Tefal Daisy 24cm frypan at RM72 against RM159, and a Milux 18cm saucepan with glass lid at RM38 against RM109, all without a queue or a car park. So the question is what the warehouse floor adds beyond the online price. For anyone who has been to one of these, what actually decided it for you? Whether the deep cuts land on induction-ready bases or on aluminium pans that only work on gas, whether the lids match the pots on the pallet, and whether the really cheap stacks are seconds with scuffed lids or simply end-of-line colours nobody wanted. I am also curious whether the markdowns run on the online store during the same week. If the 91% is warehouse only, the drive to Section 13 has to be worth more than the delivery fee, and that is a different calculation for someone in Subang than for someone in Cheras.

The 91% usually lands on the clearance line nobody else stocks, like odd-size kettles or single pots sold without their lids. Walk in with three items you would actually use and see whether any of them is on the floor at all.

At the last PJ warehouse sale the induction-compatible pans were the ones with only a few pieces left, everything else on the pallet was plain aluminium. Turn the pan over and read the base before the percentage convinces you.

Ask the staff which stacks are end-of-line and which are seconds. The display sets with scuffed lids are exactly the ones piled near the entrance, and they are not always priced lower than the sealed boxes.

The 26th is a Monday, so go on the first two days if you can. Pallets are still full and the staff have not yet consolidated the leftovers into one corner, which is when you stop finding matching pieces.

Does the online shop carry the same markdowns during the sale week, or is the deep cut warehouse only? I would rather pay for delivery than spend a Saturday driving to Section 13 and back.

Bring a magnet if you want to test induction quickly. It settles the argument in two seconds, and half the boxes in these clearance events carry the old packaging with the wrong logo printed on it.
